Factors
What causes diabetes - the factors that influence the cause of diabetes.
It isĀ known what causes diabetes but what is not known is why some people develop diabetes and others do not. It is believed however that there are certain factors that do influence the likelihood of certain people developing diabetes.
Although genetics may play a part in the cause of diabetes, particularly in type 2 diabetes, it is not an inherited disease in the normal use of that term. If it plays a role it is more likely that a person would inherit a susceptibility to diabetes but whether they would ever suffer from the condition would also depend on other factors. It is thought that in young people a cause of diabetes might be a virus but there is , as yet, no proof of this.
With the mature age group it is more likely that diet and weight are the causing factors especially since the majority of people who develop type 2 diabetes are overweight. Type 2 diabetes is far more prevalent than type 1 diabetes. There are geographical factors also where diet and environment could play a role.
There are some illnesses which could increase your chance of developing diabetes, particularly illnesses which alter the hormonal balance of your body. Examples of these would be thyroid problems, cystic fibrosis, inflammation of the pancreas. Excessive alcohol intake also damages the pancreas and so is often a cause of diabetes.

It’s likely that you… like most of us, take dietary supplements of one type
of another. But, do you really know if you are receiving the benefits that you
expect? So many of the supplements on the market are ineffective either due to
low potency levels, or, they simply do not contain what is stated on the label.
Even worst, many supplements can have dangerously high levels of contaminants
due to relaxed regulatory regulations governing the manufacture of dietary
supplements. There is some interesting information available on this subject. If
you take supplements we would recommend you check out this info by clicking
